Organizational Leadership

David J. Kufeld

Founder & President

Dave Kufeld sees the founding of the GBGB as the pinnacle of his over 40-year career in advertising, marketing communications, and non-profit leadership, as it perfectly harmonizes the worlds of commerce and charity – two otherwise disparate disciplines that have been the pillars of his professional and private lives.

After a basketball career that saw him become one of the more heralded small college players in the nation (while at NYC's Yeshiva University), including a stint afterwards as a NBA draftee and pro player in the European First Division, Dave started his marketing life at the industry-leading real estate investment and development firm Silverstein Properties, which led him to establish an ad agency specializing in real estate that then expanded into other industries, such as packaged goods and non-profit organizations, and was ultimately accredited by the prestigious “Four A’s” and won several major industry awards for creativity.

After that, he managed several high-profile advertising and occasionally public relations accounts in the financial services, international airline and telecom sectors in both in-house and agency settings, which led to his current position at Weitz & Luxenberg PC - one of the USA’s largest “mass torts” law firms - where he has been directing the firm’s sizable marketing, advertising, and client relations initiatives for well over two decades.

Dave has also been deeply involved in meeting the marketing and occasionally, operational needs of a variety of non-profits for over four decades as either a volunteer or professional. The types of causes he has been active in are educational, athletic, poverty, cultural-religious and societal improvement. He has established several new 501-c-3 charitable organizations, with the newest one being the Giving Everyday Charitable Trust. Looking back, he credits Larry A. Silverstein (Chairman of Silverstein Properties) and Arthur Luxenberg (co-founding, managing partner of Weitz & Luxenberg PC) for mentoring him by example, as to how to make giving back an essential and natural part of a business, for which he is grateful for and has applied to the founding of the GBGB.
